Ah, Peroni, my old friend! Except it’s not.
It’s a new friend, dressed a little bit like my old one.
I’ve been a big fan of this slightly overpriced but equally lovely Italian gem for years. You won’t be surprised to learn that this doesn’t taste like Peroni. AF drinks don’t taste like their alcohol infused brothers and sisters but many lagers come very close to having the alcohol taste some are searching for.
At risk of repeating myself, it really is the moment you are in and the actual taste of the drink, rather than whether it had any alcohol in it. In this case, I like this very much, it almost had a Belgian beer taste about it so I would say, yes it tastes like lager, but no, not like Peroni.
The colour is very good and I like the crisp design of the bottle. I will definitely buy again and it will be an early sunny evening drink for me. I paired this with Halloumi salad but it also went very well with the Chinese takeaway I had the night before! By the way, Reggie dog is not allowed to the table at dinner time!
